A Central Hockey League (CHL) occurs as sale-subordinate professional hockey league. It was created for the 1992-93 year by owning sixer initiative teams around Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita, Memphis, Dallas and Fort Worth. When many experiments around expansion & an extended battle for players & markets using a Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL), the two leagues merged within 2001. A select few teams come affiliated by owning American Hockey League, ECHL and National Hockey League teams for player development.
There were 2 last leagues by using a CHL title; a single existent between 1931-35 & well-nigh only comprised of Minnesota teams, & of these existing between 1963-84 (until 1968 it was referred to as a Central Office Hockey League), about conterminous by owning a locality of operations of the todays league & including former incarnations of the Oklahoma City Blazers and the Tulsa Oilers.
